Emerging Technologies and Ethics

We examine the ethical, legal, and social implications of emerging technologies in maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health. As digital health tools, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-support systems are increasingly integrated into care delivery, it is critical to ensure that innovation advances equity, safety, and trust rather than deepening existing disparities. We explore issues related to data governance, informed consent, algorithmic bias, transparency, accountability, and the protection of women’s and children’s rights within digital health systems.
